Abstract
⺠Blindfolded sighted and blind subjects perform equally well during tactile maze navigation. ⺠Blind subjects activate the hippocampal complex and the visual cortex during tactile maze navigation. ⺠Control subjects recruit instead the precuneus and the caudate nucleus.
