Abstract
⺠Verbal recall of bound features held in short-term memory (e.g., objects and colours) is impaired in Alzheimer's disease (AD). ⺠This impairment is not observed in other forms of non-AD dementia. ⺠Relative to other neuropsychological functions commonly used in the assessment, STM binding deficits are specific to AD. ⺠STM binding tasks may be useful tool in the differential diagnosis between AD and non-AD dementias.
