Abstract
⺠We created a set of face images varying in perceived trustworthiness and gender. ⺠We studied fMRI responses to face trustworthiness and a gender control dimension. ⺠Amygdala, FFA, OFA and pSTS showed U-shaped responses to face trustworthiness. ⺠Quadratic U-shaped patterns were also found for the gender control dimension. ⺠Results suggest that face-selective regions code faces in term of distinctiveness.
