Abstract
► We tested body ownership in somatoparaphrenia in direct-view and mirror-view conditions. ► Mirror-view systematically reversed somatoparaphrenia. ► First experimental evidence that self-observation in a mirror alters limb disownership. ► This finding suggests dissociation between first- and third-person visual perspectives on the body. ► Deficits in social cognition may contribute to somatoparaphrenic delusions.
