Abstract
⺠Memory performance was superior following active study versus passive study. ⺠This active-learning benefit was pronounced for spatial location memory. ⺠ERP correlates of spatial retrieval differed for active versus passive study. ⺠Reactivation of the brain regions involved in study occurred during retrieval. ⺠This reactivation reflected higher-order operations involved in active study.
