Abstract
⺠We examined a relationship between representations of language and praxis in a healthy brain. ⺠Strongly left-handed individuals were tested using fMRI. ⺠Laterality indices for language in BA44/45 and praxis (gesture) in BA40 were assessed. Lateralization of language is highly predictive of lateralization of gesture. ⺠This relationship suggests that language and praxis may exploit a common cerebral specialization.
