Abstract
▸ Evidence of white matter compromise in ASD is currently limited for short-distance tracts. ▸ We provide quantitative estimation of DTI indices for short and long-distance tracts in ASD. ▸ Anomalies for short-distance tracts in frontal, parietal, and temporal lobes in ASD were found. ▸ Maturational changes in short-distance fibers seen in TD children were reduced or absent in ASD. ▸ Findings do not support the idea of selective sparing of short-distance connectivity in ASD.
