Abstract
⺠Unlike younger adults, older adults did not exhibit memory benefits from predictive category cueing. ⺠Unlike younger adults, older adults did not exhibit expectation-period FFA activity modulation. ⺠Older adults with memory benefits exhibited FFA activity modulation. ⺠Older adults displayed diminished expectation-related PFC-FFA functional connectivity. ⺠We propose an expectation deficit hypothesis of cognitive aging.
