Abstract
► We tested the effects of a visual suffix on cued recall of colored shapes. ► Overlap of color/shape between suffixes and experimental set was manipulated. ► Suffixes sharing no feature with the experimental set had the smallest effect. ► Suffixes containing one or two shared features had larger, and equivalent, effects. ► Reduction in accuracy was mainly due to an increase in recall of suffix features.
