Abstract
⺠Musicians have enhanced speech perception in background noise. ⺠Here, we reveal a neurobiological mechanism for this advantage. ⺠Musicians demonstrate greater neural sensitivity to regularities in ongoing speech. ⺠This neural sensitivity correlates with speech-in-noise perception. ⺠We interpret these results in the context of training-related neuroplasticity.
