Abstract
► Musicians have enhanced speech perception in background noise. ► Here, we reveal a neurobiological mechanism for this advantage. ► Musicians demonstrate greater neural sensitivity to regularities in ongoing speech. ► This neural sensitivity correlates with speech-in-noise perception. ► We interpret these results in the context of training-related neuroplasticity.
