Abstract
▶ High Autism Quotient (AQ) scorers perform better on the Embedded Figures Test (EFT). ▶ A modified visual search task is employed to investigate underlying substrates. ▶ High AQ scorers detect a discrete visual target better in this repeatable task. ▶ Segmenting lines add a constant amount to reaction time for both AQ groups. ▶ Image segmentation by lines, (as in EFT), is rejected as an essential contributor.
