Abstract
ⶠSustained electrocortical oscillations in visual cortex are amplified when viewing visual threat stimuli. ⶠElectrocortical facilitation is enhanced during acute defense, elicited by an unexpected highly disruptive auditory stimulus. ⶠThis sensory amplification affects all stimuli equally, preserving accurate discrimination between threatening and safe cues.
