Abstract
⺠Being primed with an outgroup (relative to the ingroup) increases people's tendencies to be unpredictable. ⺠This effect is strongest among people high in chronic or manipulated distrust of others. ⺠This effect emerges across a variety of group contexts (e.g., race/ethnicity, university affiliation).
