Abstract
⺠Compensation between warmth and competence occurs in impression management. ⺠People who want to appear warm (vs. control group) downplay their competence. ⺠People who want to appear competent (vs. control group) downplay their warmth. ⺠Compensation does not extend to other dimensions (health, political interest).
