Abstract
⺠We examined the effect of financial incentives on empathic accuracy. ⺠Individuals were offered financial incentives or not for empathic accuracy. ⺠Those offered financial incentives were less accurate. ⺠Lower interdependence mediated the effect of financial incentives on accuracy.
