Abstract
⺠High turnover plagues employers of frontline healthcare workers in the U.S. ⺠The study uses data from the Survey of Income and Program Participation to examine work and wage patterns of nurse aides. ⺠Findings show workers lose little by leaving jobs, and often move between jobs and occupations in low-wage labor markets. ⺠We find minimal upward mobility among nurse aides, particularly among minorities.
