Abstract
⺠Finds that higher contextual neighborhood mistrust is inversely associated with self-rated poor health in a Japanese suburban area. ⺠Suggests the advantage of breaking down social capital to examine specific relationship between social capital and health. ⺠Implies the importance of taking the community attributes into consideration when developing a health promotion strategy.
