Abstract
⺠In rural Mozambique, there are no overall mortality differences between children of migrant and non-migrant fathers. ⺠Mortality differences appear when considering perceived success of migration. ⺠Children of unsuccessful migrants have the highest mortality. ⺠Community factors do not explain or moderate these associations. ⺠Degree of success of labor migration needs to be considered when examining the consequences of migration for households.
