Abstract
► Overall, a key aspect of social participation for adults with disabilities varies geographically and is influenced by area economic conditions. ► Employment for persons with SCI is more likely in socioeconomically advantaged areas and in areas that are categorized as suburban versus urban. ► Geographic variation in employment was relatively unaffected by individual-level differences in health and functioning and modestly attenuated by educational attainment.
