Abstract
⺠This study uses best-worst scaling to assess adolescents' level of concern for health and non-health consequences of smoking. ⺠Lung cancer, cardiovascular diseases, sexual dysfunction, and reduction of physical capacity are rated as being of most concern. ⺠Results indicate substantial preference heterogeneity across respondents. ⺠Analyses by gender and smoking status bring valuable insights on the ability of some thematic contents to influence smoking behaviors. ⺠This is the first application of best-worst scaling in the field of health behaviors.
