Abstract
► Qualitative study examining the illness experiences of patients infected with HIV and TB disease in South Africa. ► Examines how the double stigma of TB and HIV is constructed in the context of patients' perceptions and illness identities. ► Stigma management strategies such as HIV othering and covering allow patients to resist and manage their double stigmas. ► Calls attention to the complex burden of TB/HIV stigma in the delivery of TB/HIV healthcare.
