Abstract
⺠French students' income has a significant effect on their smoking behavior but the sensitivity to income remains weak. ⺠Only the students' labor earnings and parental transfers have a significant influence on tobacco use. ⺠Public grant transfers like housing benefits and scholarship are not used for tobacco expenditures.
