Abstract
⺠Prenatal attendance does appreciably influence the use of facility delivery in all three geographical regions. ⺠The incremental effect of prenatal contacts is found to be more pronounced in Sub-Saharan Africa than in Asia and Latin America. ⺠The influence of maternal education, age, parity level, employment status, and economic status of the birthing women on the place of delivery is found to vary across the three geographical regions. ⺠The urban-rural gap in the use of facility delivery care varies both across wealth quintiles and across regions.
