Abstract
⺠In the context of major tumor surgery, evidence for the coexistence of reciprocal and need-based partner support is shown. ⺠Partners' reciprocal support provision dropped following surgery, but increased again in the months to follow. ⺠Support provision was also continuously linked with indicators of patients' need for support.
