Abstract
⺠Provides new insights into community members' perceptions of girls' vulnerability to HIV/AIDS. ⺠Finds that community members highlight structural interventions as key to an effective response to the epidemic. ⺠Reveals that respondents identified poverty and lax law enforcement as main determinants of girls' vulnerability to HIV. ⺠Points to the lack of positive adult-child relationships as a key intermediate factor in girls' vulnerability to HIV.
