Abstract
⺠Financial support receipt was associated with higher use of formal care and informal care in France. ⺠The proportion of informal care utilization within total non-medical care utilization was lower for patients receiving public financial support. ⺠Our results suggested the presence of a threshold effect, i.e. that formal care may only be substituted for informal care up to a certain limit.
