Abstract
⺠This is one of very few studies of infertility to look at those who do not seek treatment as well as those who do. ⺠Infertility treatment causes distress over and above that caused by infertility itself. ⺠Fertility-specific distress is higher among infertile women who do not have a live birth. ⺠In general longer duration of treatment results in increased distress.
