Abstract
► UK general population respondents were receptive to the thought of adapting to rheumatoid arthritis over time. ► They increased their values for rheumatoid arthritis states after being informed about disease adaptation. ► Younger and healthier individuals were more likely to increase their values after undergoing an adaptation exercise. ► The results contribute to the emerging field of developing better informed general population values.
