Abstract
⺠Gendered nature of stigmatization processes based on ethnographic fieldwork in Peru. ⺠Gender inequalities create the conditions leading to a power differential which enables stigmatization to unfold. ⺠Gender inequalities shape the construction and the enactment of the stigma. âºÂ Gender inequalities shape the experiences of stigmatization in severe and persistent mental illness.
