Abstract
► I investigate the link between workplace gender diversity and employee job-related well-being. ► I find gender diversity to be negatively related to employee job-related well-being. ► The negative association is specific to women employees only. ► The finding is in line with predictions of group competition theory. ► Workplace gender equality policies and practices do not ameliorate the negative finding.
