Abstract
► This paper documents occupational mobility in France for the years 1982 to 2009. ► It corrects statistical biases and discrepancies in the measurement of mobility. ► Aggregate mobility exhibits no overall trend but increased within various subgroups. ► Changing demographics explain why these increases do not show in the aggregate. ► Aggregate mobility increased sharply after taking composition effects into account.
