Abstract
⺠High firm wages may distort workers' perception of the wage offer distribution. ⺠We decompose wages for all Austrian workers to derive firm specific wage components. ⺠We analyze how firm wage components affect unemployment durations. ⺠Young workers search longer when laid off from firms with high firm wage components.
