Abstract
⺠A w-skeleton structure is proposed for weighted social networks. ⺠Percolation studies show that strong ties can support the skeleton of networks. ⺠The average centralities of vertices in w-skeleton increase as w increases. ⺠As skeleton index w increases, w-skeleton tends to be self-similar and fractal. ⺠The ties in the high w-skeleton play important roles in information diffusion.
