Abstract
⺠We calculate the temperature in a rapidly solidifying melt during the final transient. ⺠It is presumed that the interface approaches a surface with a constant velocity V. ⺠It also presumed that V/VH<1, where VH is the velocity of thermal disturbances in matter. ⺠First we find the temperature within the scope of the hyperbolic model of heat conduction. ⺠The temperature within the scope of the parabolic model is found by the limiting transient V/VHâ0.
