Abstract
⺠A random-growth urban model is analyzed based on complex-network theory. ⺠Population dynamics with positive geographical fitness yields Pareto distribution. ⺠A generic class of city-size distribution is derived by allowing negative fitness. ⺠Smooth trajectories of city population growth can be generated.
