Abstract
⺠We are concerned with the distribution of the time to extinction from quasi-stationarity. ⺠We generalize ad hoc derivations available in the literature for a range of epidemiological models. ⺠We deal both with the continuous-time case and the discrete-time case. ⺠Conditions about finiteness and irreducibility of the state space are not assumed.
