Abstract
⺠A generalized Langevin equation is created to describe elongation of streams. ⺠The Langevin equation is transformed into the Fokker-Plank equation. ⺠The solution of the equation demonstrates the evolution history of a river network. ⺠A river network evolves from a Gaussian distribution to a power law distribution. ⺠A power law distribution of basin areas is obtained from that of stream lengths.
