Abstract
⺠Stochastic process rules (SPR) of evolving networks are introduced. ⺠SPR keep the sample space of degree distribution unchanged. ⺠We develop an SPR-based Markov chain method to calculate the degree distributions. ⺠The degree distributions of random birth-and-death networks are calculated.
