Abstract
► This paper links precursory kHz EM activity with theoretical models for EQ dynamics. ► A nonextensive fragment-asperity and a self-affine fBm model are considered. ► These models are linked with two distinctive epochs of the detected preseismic kHz EM emission. ► Sufficient criteria that help elucidate the last stage of EQ generation are identified.
