Abstract
⺠The random-crystal field (RCF) spin-1 Blume-Capel model is investigated. ⺠The lowest approximation of the cluster-variation method is used. ⺠The bimodal distribution of RCF is assumed. ⺠The phase diagrams are calculated. ⺠The model yields tricritical points and reentrant behavior.
