Abstract
⺠We unveil the fractal feature of digital speckle patterns produced by light scattering from rough surfaces. ⺠We relate fractal dimension of the digital images with the surface roughness of metallic samples. ⺠We propose an alternative technique for characterizing rough surfaces.
