Abstract
⺠A new lattice model of traffic flow with the consideration of the traffic interruption probability has been presented. ⺠The traffic interruption probability on the stability of traffic flow has been explored. ⺠The modified KdV equation near the critical point is derived to describe the traffic jam by nonlinear analysis. ⺠The analytical and numerical results show that the traffic interruption probability can improve the stability of traffic flow.
