Abstract
⺠Transmembrane proteins have significantly higher values for shortest path lengths. ⺠Spread of hydrophobic residues affects shortest path length in transmembrane proteins. ⺠Better assortativity is due to highly connected hub residues exposed to the solvent. ⺠Transmembrane proteins are found to exist in small world networks.
