Abstract
► We improve the FVD model and present a visual angle car-following model. ► Human drivers' characteristics are considered in this model. ► Linear analysis shows the asymmetry and effects of the width of leading vehicles. ► Numerical simulations obtain the density wave, asymmetry and wide scattering. ► Visual angle information can explain some complex nature of traffic flow.
