Abstract
⺠Swarm splitting and merging is studied in homogeneous multi-agent dynamic system. ⺠A mid-range repulsive interaction leads a cohesive swarm to split. ⺠Two key parameters of the interaction function manage the swarm splitting. ⺠Average spatial size and nearest-neighbor distance of subswarms can be estimated.
