Abstract
⺠We build the US airport network (USAN) from flight en-route location information. ⺠We find that the USAN exhibits scale-free, small-world and disassortative mixing properties. ⺠We report a power relationship between structural measurements and traffic ones. ⺠We investigate the airport patterns and present a complete typological map. ⺠Airport traffic is related to geographical constraints and socioeconomic factors.
