Abstract
⺠Derivation of a new turbulent subfilter eddy viscosity for LES models. ⺠Turbulent subfilter eddy viscosity is expressed in terms of the cutoff wavenumber. ⺠This new subfilter viscosity imposes that the sharp Fourier filter is a natural choice for LES models.
