Abstract
⺠We study the statistical properties of hourly wind speed time series in Brazil. ⺠We find that the wind speed data are well explained by a Weibull distribution. ⺠Estimated parameter values differ among stations, and appear to be erratic. ⺠On the other hand, the long-term correlations of all datasets obey the same power law.
