Abstract
⺠Irreversible thermodynamics is a power interdisciplinary approach to open systems. ⺠Entropy generation is a quantity that is useful for obtaining their stationary states. ⺠Both maximum and minimum principles of entropy generation exist. ⺠The question is: which is the correct principle (maximum or minimum)? ⺠The two principles are equivalent, but they can be used for different aims.
