Abstract
► We study the evolution of cooperation on an adaptive network. ► Network inhomogeneity is found to be detrimental to cooperation. ► A large difference in degree leads to extreme instability of cooperator clusters. ► The agent with a higher degree becomes the inhibitor of cooperation.
